What is Service-Learning?

Service-learning is a powerful teaching method that integrates community service with academic study to engage students, deepen learning, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities.

Mission of the Service-Learning Program:

To facilitate the institutionalization of service-learning in Saint Paul Public Schools by promoting a teaching methodology whereby students are given opportunities which meet classroom curriculum standards and genuine community needs.

Vision of the Service-Learning Program:

To provide Saint Paul Public School students the opportunity to experience service-learning as a tool to achieve academic goals and become action oriented citizens.
